Corrosive Gas & Particulate
Removal Systems for Air Compressor Protection
The Corrosion Problem
Is your facility next to a plant like this? Then you have a corrosion problem.
Centrifugal compressors are used in many industrial applications to provide the necessary air for the operation of pneumatic controls, feed, and oxidation air.
Many compressors use intercoolers to control the ambient and compressed air temperatures. Intake air can contain corrosive gases in the smallest concentrations. These gases include: sulfur dioxide, ammonia, nitrogen oxide, hydrogen sulfide, and chlorine. When this occurs, severe compressor damage is only a matter of time.
The condensed water is either acidic or basic which attacks compressor internals such as: copper piping, coils, impellers, diffusers, inter-coolers, solenoid valves, pistons, etc. This corrosive condition causes equipment failure and/or reduced mechanical efficiencies.
Crystal-Line™ technology will help maintain compressor efficiency and significantly reduce the failure rate of compressors caused by corrosive gases.
The Complete Corrosion Prevention Solution
The foundation of corrosion prevention begins by installing Crystal-Line™ gas filtration systems. As the leader in compressor air intake filtration technology, FAA Filters ensures maximum protection from corrosive gases and sub-micron particulates.
Complete compressor protection is achieved using Crystal-Line™ gas filter systems in series with our proven particulate removal panel filters.
First Stage Pre-filter: 98% of 10 micron filter provides the necessary protection for the Crystal-Line™ media.
Second Stage Filter: Consists of two media panels filled with one of several Crystal-Line™ media. These media are custom selected to meet your specific corrosion control needs.
Third Stage Life Extender Filter: 98% of 4 micron filter is designed to protect the final filter for maximum sub-micron particulate removal.
Final Stage Final Filter: Our proven high efficiency panel filter with 99.97% of 0.3 micron rating and V-seal technology completes the Crystal-Line™ gas filtration system.
The Technology
At the center of the Crystal-Line™ gas filtration system is the Crystal-Line™ media that removes corrosive pollutants. These media consist of impregnated zeolite and impregnated activated carbon. With the CLI, potassium permanganate is the active ingredient that reacts with corrosive gases and oxidizes them.
CLI provides more potassium permanganate per cubic foot than the leading competitor with 90% less dusting than alumina based chemisorbents. One gram of CLI media contains approximately 40 M2 of surface area capable of oxidizing many different corrosive gases at the same time. CLII, the impregnated activated carbon is specially enhanced to remove selective acid gases and chlorides. The base material used for CLII is a high-quality coconut shell granular activated carbon which has a surface area of 1100 M2 per gram.
